Call Legal Aid. You didn't put a ZIP code in, so I don't know exactly where you are located. But see if you can get a free attorney from Legal Aid. If not, contact the Texas Legal Services Center (www.tlsc.org) and they will try to refer you to an attorney who will take the case at a greatly reduced rate and might even offer a payment plan.

If none of that works, she needs to file an intervention pleading asking for sole managing conservatorhship of the children. It's not a simple thing--you really need to try to find an attorney who will work with you. In Texas, biological parents are strongly favored under the law over grandparents, so you need an expert to help you.

I'm so sorry your family is going through this tough ordeal. Good luck!!
