Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Property of divorce

In the terms of my divorce, I agreed to allow my ex to assume to home, however, I never signed off any papers releasing me from the actual deed. Can I be released from the deed and add someone else without my signing off on the actual mortgage note?

Please email me as soon as you possibly can at [email protected]. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Sincerely,

Re: Property of divorce

Only the mortgagee can release you from your obligation under the note. If the mortgagee agrees they could release you and allow an assumption of the mortgage; however, the decision lies with the mortage company.
