Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

hi I have a question my brother got his girlfriend pregnant last summer ( she lost the baby a month later)at the time she that shw was pregnant she was 15 and he was 18. a her parents told her if he came around or tried to contact her they would call the police and press charges. so he stayed away. my question is could they have really done this and if so what would have happened to him. my other question is if they ended up getting pregnant again when she is 17 (she turns 17 in nov 2013) and he is 19 (turns 20 in jan 2013) can her parents still press charges and get him in trouble.

It is sexual assault of a child for a person to have sex with anyone under the age of 17. It is a defense if the two are not 1 day more than 3 years apart in age.

And, the statute of limitations will not have run on the first crime (sex when she was 15) until she is 28.......
