Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I am wanting to take my 5 year old son on a cruise this year. His father has never been in the picture and is not on the birth certificate. Although, I am in the middle of trying to get him served for child support. People tell me that I need his permission to take him on the cruise. Is that true, if he has nothing to do with him and lives in another state. How can I prove I have sole custody?

Dad is going to have parental rights until a court limits them or takes them away. If that has not occurred, it needs to happen. Talk to the attorney who is helping you with the child support matter.

You need to talk to the cruise line. Some cruise lines won't allow the child on the ship. So don't buy a ticket until you've made sure that they will allow the child to board the ship.
