Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

Car vs Horse

I was traveling home the other night and drove up on some loose horses. They had gotten out of a fence and were in the hwy. The police came, a report was made. The woman claimed responsibility saying it was her horse and that she had insurance coverage. I now find out she doesn't have insurance (after calling her company) So now I am left with a 3,500 in auto damages. We weren't hurt except for a pain in my neck. I had my blind grandaughter with me that in scared to now ride in the car. My 4 yr old grandaughter was left at home and now cries when she is left at home or is refusing to ride anywhere. I can file on my auto insurance but was wondering just where does this horse owners liability lay?

Re: Car vs Horse

Your ins. co. will be more than able to sue the horse owner if there is money to be made by doing so.
