Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

I am interested in having my name legally changed in the state of Texas. In reviewing the requirements, I see that I should never have been convicted of any crime (even a misdemeanor). I had a DWI 14 years ago. Is that going to prevent me from getting my name legally changed?

Probably not. It's in the discretion of the judge if you have a felony. If you're no longer reporting, then it's more likely that it will be granted.
