Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

I met a girl online, and it didnt take her long to say I love you. She has sent me $300 to move to her state-Montana. I live in Texas. I had every intention in going but I want to back out now. Could I be charged with a crime such as fraud if I do not go?

she lives in Montana and I live in Texas. I have sent her a number of photos of myself but she wont send any to me. I am in a bad situation here and she has offred to take care of me if I just move there. After what stories I have read online I'm just plain scared. She claims to be 28 and I am 48

It is hard to figure out whether she has a fraud claim without reviewing the emails. However, to have a decent claim, there must be damages.

So Send the money back and explain why. Be sure you can prove you send the money back, so send it by certified mail or registered mail. If she sent you cash, make a record of the bill denominations and serial numbers.

I don't know about Montana Law but a fraud claim over $300 is impractical. Over nothing is less so.
