Legal Question in Immigration Law in Texas
I completed the naturalization process last year. Now that I have gained citizenship,
I would like to follow through with the process and obtain citizenship status for my
two children, currently living abroad. I have a shared custody agreement as terms of
my divorce, but does not obviously have physical possession of my children. I have no
current plans to bring the children to the U.S. to live but want them to have the
option later, even if later is after they become adults. The best way to guarantee
that possibility seems to be to get them citizenship status.
The children are 16 and 14, so I believe I should begin work on this promptly. I would like to know the process toward naturalization of the children that will be least disruptive to the children�s lives.

It appears that children are not permanent residents and don't reside with you in the USA. If this is the case, they wouldn't be immediately eligible for citizenship through naturalization or your naturalization. If they plan to relocate to USA and become residents in USA, you can petition for their residency (Green Cards).
