Legal Question in Immigration Law in Texas
offered second chance after federal charge
someone i know got involved mistakenly in a gang of human smugglers. she is here with a work permit. ICE got to her and told her that they will drop all charges and will grant her legal status if she cooperates. is this true? can ICE do that? if can, can ICE back out? Will she need to get this in writting? Does she need a lawyer? is this a trap?

Hard to say if it is a trap, but she certainly needs a lawyer to protect her rights in either case.
