Is it legal to sell an e-mail name such as ''XBox@gmail.com''

When checking to see if there were any auctions for a game system on e-bay, I noticed there were hundreds of auctions for e-mail addresses with the XBox name (ex: Free_XBox@gmail.com, XBox_Sales_and_Support@gmail.com, Microsoft_XBox@gmail.com, etc.) Is it legal to sell these names and accounts? I figured it would be an infringement on a trademark, but I know little about intellectual property laws and I'm not even sure if this would fall under that category. Thanks for any help.

It's legal to sell an email address, so long as it doesn't belong to someone else. Whether the name infringes on a trademark or tradename is strictly determined by the facts.
