Is online purchase of Cuban cigars legal in the U.S.?

Howdy:

No. It is not currently legal for a U.S. citizen to spend money that supports the Cuban government or economy. It does not matter where the money is spent. So, if you were to purchase the cigars online, and if U.S. Customs were to discover it, you would be fined about $10k.

Sorry.

The amusing thing is that the customs forms show a column for products and a column for limts. One entry in the products is "Cigars, non-Cuban". The limit says 100. Under "Cigars, Cuban," the limit says "no". So, it looks to me like it says "no limit" for Cuban cigars! Of course, our benevolent government doesn't quite see it that way, and it seems that's now what they meant. But, it is fun to read!
