Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas

I was dealing with some personal issues and asked my boss if I could take a week off work (I have paid time off available). He said not a problem, take the time off and he would schedule me the following week. That next week, he didn't schedule me and said that his boss told him to fire me. Had they told me I couldn't take off work, I would have worked, but since it was approved, I thought everything was ok. Do I have any recourse? Also, they did not pay me for the time off and are not paying me out my accrued vacation. Help please!

Your remedy, if any, will be through the Texas Workforce Commission when you apply for unemployment benefits as they have the authority to order an employer to pay wages lost..but they cannot reinstate you..unfortunaely you must determine in the future who is "boss" as your supervisor apparently was not..
