Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas

My husband worked out of town for his company this weekend and was told that all expenses would be paid, plus he would be paid for the entire time he was there, and now his employer is saying they are only going to pay him for a certain amount of hours for the job. What is the law for out of town work and being paid the entire time you are there? He clocked in on Saturday morning and clocked out on Sunday night, so shouldn't he be paid for the hours he clocked in and out for? Please advise.

Problems..how can he prove he was told he would be paid for what seems to be 48 hours..not 16 ie two days..and probably expenses?...unless written..it is hard to imagine success..and is he salaried/hourly...so without proof..u all must be reasonable..don't let it ruin his performance for possible advancement..Winning claims is not easy without written evidence..
