Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Texas

I and 2 other people (all not US citizens) rent a house in Austin, TX from July to August. The contract ended in 4 Sept and one neighbor returned us the security deposit on behalf the the landlord. Now we have moved back to our own country. However the landlord keep mailing us saying that we have caused some damage to his house and request part of the deposit back. He also threatened us to take actions against us in court. I'm wondering if we have any responsibilities as the contract has ended.

Ignore his letters. Put them in a file (keep them), but ignore them. Have a happy life.
