Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Texas

We are being forced to move from our house after owner did a verbal agreement to stay for 1 more year. We have spent a lot of money on improving his house and now he is moving back in i have all the receipts for the house improvements, could i deduct them from the last months rent.

we live in Tx.

No written lease? And the landlord is crawfishing on your verbal agreement? I wouldn't pay him one more penny.
