Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Texas

Last year I had signed a lease with a company that was in charge of housing for my University. part of the lease stated that I must be attending the University to lease from the company. At the time I was enrolled for the fall. Over the summer I ended up transferring schools. Once this became official I informed the company that I could not lease the apartment. According to them, due to how long it took me to tell them I must pay for breaking the lease. While I understand under normal circumstance I would have to I am wondering if due to the fact that the lease states that I am unable to lease the apartment if this will still hold.

Don't pay them any money, and don't talk to them anymore.

If they sue you, get a lawyer. You have several good defenses against such a suit.
