Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Texas

I am a 17 year old girl. I see a phyciatrist. I called my phyciatrist the other day asking her if the medication I am on could possibly hurt my baby if I became pregnant. I had sex a week ago and she called my mother and told her what I said and asked. Is she seriously allowed to do that? I have already asked her to keep information like that private and now I am in no way going to tell her anything in the future so how could that help me?

You should address this concern with your psychiatrist and ask her what she will keep confidential and what she will not keep confidential.

You should consult and attorney for a more in-depth analysis of your situation.

Good Luck!
