Legal Question in Personal Injury in Texas

in an auto accident if the insurance company agrees to pay you and tells you the amount and then tells you the title has to be in ur name how long do you have to get the title to them before they dont have to pay any more? also if the policy is in ur name why does the car also have to be in your name thanks becky

If they're paying property damages, then the check would be made to the owner of the property that was damaged. In your case, I presume that the damage was done to a car. In that case, they owe the money to the owner of the car. The owner of the car would be on the title. If you're not on the title, you're not the owner. Most insurance companies will give you plenty of time to iron out the title issues.
