Legal Question in Personal Injury in Texas

Our registered quarter horse was hit and killed on a farm to market road in Tarrant County, Texas. He was out of the pasture due to negligence of a large road construction company that was using the pasture for access to bridge construction. We have now been sued by the people that hit the horse. The construction company's sub-contractor is listed on the lawsuit also, but not the main contractor in charge of the road/bridge project. We live on a ranch, which requires us to live on the property, they own the house, but we own the horse. This horse was a requirement for my husbands employment as a ranch foreman. The ranch's liability insurance will not handle it because the horse was in our name vs. the ranch owner. We do not have homeowners insurance since the ranch furnishes us a house as part of my husband's employment package. What can we do? We have to appear in court in 10 days. Debbie, Haslet, TX, Tarrant county.

In my opinion, insurer should pay...hire a lawyer..call us..but this sounds like a justice of peace case...and you should call the Court to see if the case is set..
