Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

contract of deed

I have a contract of deed on a piece of property and a power of attorney. The bank refuses to acknowledge either one. There were 2 notes (a first and second mortgage) one has been ''foreclosed'' on because of an insurance issue that was taken care of within 3 days but they refused to accept payment from that day on. The property was destoyed during Ike and I now have and insurance check made out to myself and the bank but they still refuse to acknowledge my claim on the property. They wish to talk to the property owner but he cannot be found, he moved out of state and sent me a letter saying he no longer wanted to be bothered about the property 2 years ago. I could pay off the note now with the check. Is there anything I can do?

Re: contract of deed

WHo foreclosed? When? Is it possible for you to find the original owner?
