Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

my daughter (who was 18 at the time) and myself filled out numerous apartment appplications together, and while I chose one apartment, I told she could not move in with me and she took another apt on the other side of town and signed her own lease (that I never signed) and moved in with her boyfriend ( who was not placed on the lease). She has since skipped out while in the process of being evicted and left large balance. I have since recieved a bill with my name on it (not hers) saying I am responsible for the charges that she. I never signed the lease agreement, never moved in and I only filled out the application for the apt. Do I have any legal recourse?
