Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

What kind of power of attorney do I need? My car is in my boyfriends name. Im just worried that if he should pass away, how would I ever get the car in my name, when it gets paid for or i I wanted to trade it in. What do you suggest I do?

If the car is "in your boyfriend's name" then it isn't your car. If you want the car, or you are the one paying for the car, then you need to have the title changed to you--NOW. You can obtain the appropriate forms by going to the records building for your county. (If you're in Dallas, it's located at 509 Main Street, downtown, in the basement.) Bring the boyfriend with, along with proof of insurance. You can download the forms first, in order to avoid a long wait.
