Legal Question in Traffic Law in Texas

I was parked at a gas station in arlington texas...and left my car running while i went up to the window....a cop pulled me over(when i left the station)..on 01/06/10..and said my reg was expired(i have illinois plates.and my reg expires 12/10......he said it expired the end of nov......then he made me sit there....and comes back and said he read it wrong......its NOT expired(and said, IL must be different) but, gave me a 150 ticket for leaving my car running......It was 35 degrees that night......and about a week later...i observed the same cop pull about half block from the gas station......turn off his lights...creep up to the station, and get out of his car(while running) and check another car to see if someone was in it........then he got back into his car and spun off.......and when he pulled me over....he left his car running while standing next to mine.......also....i have a keypad lock on my door.....what can i do??? court is tomorrow.......I seriously need advice
