Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

reading a will

My mom recently died and my stepfather stated he has found her will and put it in a safe place because he knows we (the children) won't fight him over anything. My question is, do we, her children, have the right to read the will and if so how do we go about it?

Re: reading a will

You need to hire an attorney to open up probate in the county of your mother's residence at the time of death. Your father will be ordered to produce the will if there is one. The attorney can ask that legal fees be paid out of the estate. Best of luck.
