Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

Wills, estate

Woman with two children; one farming the family farm, the other not involved. She has almost equal liquid assets to real estate assets. She would like to leave half to each heir. Is it possible to make it mandatory for the one not involved in farming to sell or lease it to the one that is farming the land? She is worried that the non-farming one will have no income if she leaves her just liquid assets.

You really should consult with a good estate attorney who can get all the details of your situation and goals and help you decide on the best way to achieve them. A little money spent now can save your heirs a lot of time, heartache, bad feelings, and money in the future.
