Legal Question in Family Law in United Kingdom

Annulment

About three years ago, my friend married a British women of Indian origin in London. After a brief stay of less that three months, he returned to India and since been separated. Please advise to legally end this marriage. Thanking you for your time.

Your friend would have to file for divorce proceedings in the country where the marriage was solemenized i.e in the UK. Depending upon your friends current equation with his spouse, he could seek divorce by mutual consent which a faster and a quicker way for him to settle this matter.

1. Where did the marriage took place?

2. What is the religion of husband and wife?

3. How long they have been seperated?

4. Is woman in India or UK?

5. Is wife also interested for divorce?

I presume the marriage took place in London and that while you are a Hindu, your wife is British.

In the circumstances, you can either file for Divorce In India, in the Court having Jurisdiction where you are residing, or in London, where both of you last resided.
