Legal Question in Family Law in United Kingdom

child support

hi there,

Hoping someone may ease my mind .My new partners ex- wife (well, seperated 8 years)is always causing trouble. Although ,he always payed child maintenance( private agreement)she reported him to the CSA for non payment .She has been living with a new partner with baby ,works weekends and allegedly has also being claiming .He had to close his business becausse of the claims .In the grapevine , we have heard she wants to claim against me as he is refusing to pay until she aknowledges the grief caused .(His mother luckily, kept some receipts of his payments). It is my flat that I have had for years before he moved in and I have always worked .I am really frightened that she will be able to claim against me .So, any information would gladly be welcome . My boyfriend assures me she cannot but I am such a worrier .Thank you.

Re: child support

I am pleased be able to unreservedly put your mind at rest. This woman can have no possible claim against you or your flat. Providing your partner is now divorced from her, the only remaining financial link relates to their child and you have no obligation there are for maintenance.
