Legal Question in Family Law in United Kingdom

i have a contact hearing for my daughter on friday. her mum is refusing me to see her. thats no problem as i know i would be granted contact. i'm worried about the time she spends with her grand mum. she has been done for child abuse in the past. my daugthers mother having been foster for five years. there has been domestic volence in our relation ship and been convicted for common assult. can i raise the issue i have about her grand mum in the hearing.

sounds like you may well require a specific issues order or even a prohibited steps order relating to contact with the grandmother. These together with the contact order you will certainly get are all made under section 8 of the Children Act. This means that when making a contact order the court can also make other orders under the Act. Therefore bring these problems to the judge's notice and he will be able to make orders to protect your daughter's welfare although you will have not specifically asked for them
