Legal Question in Family Law in United Kingdom

In 2005 I lent my boyfriend (at the time) 28000 to prevent him going bankrupt. At the time we drew up a contract and both signed it. In this he states that he will pay the whole amount back in 5 years. So far he's paid back 6000 so it looks unlikely that he'll pay back the amount before the contract ends. Is this contract legally binding and if I take him to court will he be made to pay me back the outstanding amount?

your former boyfriend is is in breach of the agreement and it is open to you to bring court proceedings and obtain a court judgement against him. The agreement is almost certainly legally binding and by obtaining a judgement you will be able to enforce payment through the court process.
