Legal Question in Family Law in United Kingdom

Could you confirm that the law considers that it is the parent seeking contact with their children is responsible for undertaking the travel arrangements.

I live in Southampton and my ex partner in Colchester.

It is my believe that both parents should share the responsibility equally for the benefit of the child.
