Hi, i am currently an international student based in the UK. About 4 years ago in my home country i got deceived into marrying a girl i did not like. She is currently residing in my home country and we have not been communicating for over 3 years. I came into the UK about 4 months ago and i currently have an established girlfriend and we have proposed to each other. Can i divorce my former wife here without having to go back to my home country to do it??? How long can the divorce proceedings take???

providing that you are a UK resident it will be possible for you to commence divorce proceedings and divorce your overseas wife. This will usually take some three months and so the sooner you issue proceedings the better. Let us know if we can assist.
