if youl have parental responsibility for your daughter her mother may not change the surname without your written consent or permission from the court. If it seems that she is doing so you will need to take immediate action by asking the court to make a prohibited steps order. If you do not do so and your daughter gets used to using the new name it could be found at a later date that it is not in her best interests to return to using your name.
