Legal Question in Employment Law in United Kingdom

Hi

I am a senior factory manager & several of my subordinates have failed to follow procedures they have signed for resulting in a major issue for the business. None of my actions have caused the problem but the problem does affect me & becomes my responsibility. The question is can i be disciplined for responsibility when people who's actions have somehow caused the problem (blame) are not.

You use the word "subordinates", this implies that they should act on your "orders", if they do not do what they are supposed to do, you have to prove that you did all which is in you power to make them comply (in a normal time frame). As a last resort reporting them to you superiors who can than take the necessary action (reprimanding, sacking, etc.).
