my girl friend and I are living apart we share a baby. we are going to write our own contract on child care and responsabilitys.we willl get it witnessed and notarized. will this be a legal document?

Not in the least. A complete waste of time, paper and ink. Children are not puppies to be the subject of notarized agreements. Any agreement to be legal must be an order of the court signed by a Judge. Believe me this so-called agreement will wind up costing you much more than you think you're saving.

This will not be a legal document in any way. You need to visit with an attorney. Your agreemnet can become a legal document, but not in the manner you are suggesting to proceed.
