Legal Question in Family Law in Utah

child support and adoption

My husband signed an agreement to allow my his daughter to be adopted by her step-father, I beleive it was an intent to adopt, but had to be signed by my husband and notarized, he signed and so did the notary, there was no clause saying he would still have to pay back due support, however it did say that it would be like he was never the childs father, is he still responsible for back due support?

Re: child support and adoption

Absent a specific agreement which relieves your husband for back child support, he may still be liable to pay. Without seeing the agreements, there is no way to know what they say in this case.
