Legal Question in Employment Law in Utah

Employer/ Empployee interactions

I need information about employee abuse in the areas of both verbal and mental abuse. I work in a plant that is cought in the Sixties when it comes to treatment of employees. Supervisors tend to spead down to employees while using excessive profanity. We have had a limited problem with Physical Assult as well. As of now any employee who has voiced a grievance about the treatment has been terminated without reason. Are there any guidelines in this area?

Re: Employer/ Empployee interactions

You are not required to endure excessive profanity or insults. Such language creates a hostile work environment. You may terminate your employment and collect unemployment insurance. No physical abuse should be tolerated. Criminal and civil charges should be filed for physical abuse. Regardless whether terminated or you quit as a result of such actions you are entitled at a minimum to unemployment benefits. You may also have a basis for a civil suit against the company and its managers.
