Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Utah

I broke a lease in an apartment. I had 8 months left on the lease. The owner is taking me to court and suing me for the 8 months of rent. If the apartment has already been rented, can I still be sued for the 8 months of rent?

You can only be held responsible for the time the apartment was not rented, plus costs of re-renting the apartment, and any cleaning and damage costs.
