Legal Question in Family Law in Vermont

Marriage Liscence

My fiancee and I are schedueled to be married on October 16,2003. We both reside in New York but want to be married in Vermont because it is more scenic. However, we were wondering if eventhough we reside in NY; we will need a VT marriage liscence because that's where we were married. We would greatly appreciate it if you could help us with this question.

Thank You..

Re: Marriage Liscence

By now you have your answer, which I trust was: YES.

You must follow the law of the jurisdiction. If you should join the ranks of those who divorce, you will also need to apply local law.
