Legal Question in Family Law in Vermont

paternity

there is a chance I fathered a girl in 1986. I recently contacted the mother and she denies my suspicion, unfortunately I don't believe her. Is there any way to prove legaly what I want to know ? All I'm looking for is peace of mind
