Legal Question in Business Law in Virginia

Unethical business practices

My wife works for a small company that has the following issues:

1. The owner hired his mother in law to a position and pays her double to do the job from home comparable to the works in the office.

2. Had an affair with a married receptionist (whose husband is in Iraq) and then promoted her to a marketing position (after less than 1 month) and allows her to work from home.

3. Used company resources to set up ''meetings'' for this extramarital affair.

There are many other things, but who needs to mention them at this time?

Since this is a privately owned company is he free to do as he chooses?

Re: Unethical business practices

As long as it's a privately owned company, I see no obvious violations of any laws in what you've recounted in your question. (Ethical considerations, are, of course, another matter entirely.)
