Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

Paying Debt After Summons Received

A Summons to Answer Interrogatories was received. Can I pay the debt in full prior to the set court date and avoid appearing? I had intended to pay the debt and then I received the summons.

Yes - you can pay and avoid appearing. Call the plaintiff's lawyer to get the exact amount including interest and costs (it should be on the summons, but not necessarily through the correct date of issuance).
