Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

Charges

After spending a night in jail, the magistrate informed me of being charged with 4 different things. A week or 2 later I looked up my charges online and I had 2 more. Not only wasn't I informed, but they're small charges such as ''expectorate''. Not only that, but there was no probably cause to even be stopping me. It was Halloween night, and I was on private property with 5-6 other people. Is this normal?

Re: Charges

Hard to say, but if you happen to "expectorate"(spit)on an investigating officer(which he or she is unlikely to regard as a "small charge"), you can likely expect that officer to be abnormally creative in coming up with charges for the "expectorator".
