Legal Question in DUI Law in Virginia

Hi there! I have a two part question I was hoping someone could assist with. The general question is, do states share misdemeanor and/or civil citation (or "infraction") convictions with other states?

A specific example of this would be a recent law passed in the state of California, which makes the possession of small amounts of cannabis an "infraction" (or civil citation) with only a $100 fine. In the commonwealth of Virginia (amongst many other states), any conviction of a cannabis related offense has a mandatory six month suspension of one's driver's license. Would a citation for a small amount of cannabis in California be shared with the commonwealth of Virginia in this case? Similarly, I would be interested to know if a DUI conviction in another state (at the misdemeanor level) would be shared with the Department of Motor Vehicles in the resident state of the convicted.

Thanks for your time!

1. No. probably not (in my opinion).

2. Yes, quite possible if the two states involved belong to the

same interstate compact for sharing driver's license information.
