Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

A father of an illegitimate child wants joint custody of the child after never being in her life. The mother wants visitation rights. He also wants to file an order stating that the mother must not take the child out of the country. what can i do? caribbean country

And, who are you with respect to this child and where do you currently reside?

If it's in a Caribbean country, you can pretty much forget about whatever you may have in mind (my opinion).
