Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

I was recently "attorney shopping" for an impending case, and have heard through the grape vine that my opposing side is gathering the funds to retain a lawyer that I had a consultation with. I was told this would be a conflict of interest given the information he has already received from me, is that correct?
