Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

My ex wife and I were married for 14 years the divorce was in Virginia The home state.. She moved to Missouri which is the enforcing state for Child support and spousal support . I live in West Virginia . She was awarded 8 years of alimony has been in school for 6 failed RN program twice. Now she is back in school for 4more year studying something else now. She refuses to work live off of me and the state and now that our son got married she wants more money both in spousal support and child I am a truck driver married again I am supporting my wife's two children because their dad is in prison and I have one child by her total of 3 here pluse my two in Missouri

Will she have to come back to the state of Virginia to try and change the spousal support or can Missouri do it? Can she do it she shoul have been on her feet by now. She lives with someone which should cause her to have spousal support dropped but knows I cannot prove it.

No, the Virginia divorce court should retain jurisdiction over

the issue of alimony for your ex-wife, and if eight years were ordered, then

that should be it and she is unlikely to be able to get any more than that.

Child support, however, is different, and if the children have been resident in

Missouri for longer than six months and are still minors, the appropriate court in that state could take jurisdiction of this issue to modify the amount of child support you pay as warranted by the relevant facts in the case as it currently stands.
