Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Virginia

While attending another law school I took an externship class that started in the spring of 2010. The requirements were that we attend every class and complete 200 hours at a non-profit law firm over the summer. I completed all the requirements for the class turned everything in and was told that they have received everything. The next term I transferred to a different law school. I waited until spring of 2011 for the grade that was posted for all students two weeks ago and saw that they gave me a W for withdraw. I called and tried to correct the matter but they are not being helpful. Do I have a potential civil cause of action?

"Not being helpful", you claim? I would suggest your contacting (in writing if necessary) the Registrar or someone of comparable authority and the professor as well who was in charge of this "externship" before even thinking about legal action which would be unlikely to be very cost effective in settling this matter to your satisfaction(in my opinion).
