Signed contract to purchase vehicle from individual at $50 a week
for $1000. Registered, insured and licensed in my name. Signed
Title with Lein at DMV. Engine failure at $550 paid. Stopped
making payments. Contract states leinor WILL repossess if any
payment is more than 5 days late (not may reposses or has the
option to reposses).Can I make the leinor reposses the vehicle
from this line in the contract and take over registration.

No you cannot force the holder of the lien(the lienor) to repossess the vehicle. Congratulations, you're the owner

of record of this junker for what is likely to be an amount that is substantially less than the contract price.
