Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Virginia

Say a person used to live in state A and worked for a company. He then moves to state B and has lived in state B for about a year now. He goes back to state A for a business meeting where he is personally served. Can state B assert jurisdiction somehow? The company has a satellite company in state B also.

If the the lawsuit papers were validly served in person upon

the defendant in state A, they could also be valid for purposes of

prosecuting him for the matter in state B, although, procedurally,

it would appear to make more sense to have simply had him served

in his state of residence, i.e., state B if that's where he's to appear

in court on the matter.
