Can the Plaintiff and Defendant use identical Exhibit numbers?

No, under most current circuit court rules, defendants normally use A-Z and plaintiffs 1-through? to designate their respective exhibits for trial, i.e., alphabet for defendant exhibits and numerical for those of plaintiffs.
